Sorry we haven't been in touch for a while! its been a very busy and stressful few months here at FEP eventing. Most of you will have probably heard the deeply sad news that we lost Penny our best horse in 2016, she was a horse of a lifetime and It will be tough filling her shoes. However the good news is we have some new arrival's, Dylan owned by Dr Elizabeth Donald, and Gatsby owned by Catherine Hinton, I am very excited to have been offered the ride on both of these 2 and we are hoping for great things from them both. I have also purchased myself a pony (Daisy) who has a fantastic future ahead of her. The eventing season is looming, the horses have all had their stud holes put in, the lorry is about to have a huge spring clean and check up, and most importantly we have been XC schooling on GRASS!! They were all very excited despite the downpour of rain! Now just to wait for times for Oasby, very exciting!

Well its been a busy month for the team! We have been out and about a lot, Penny ad Ed went to Dressage at a place called Blaby mill. They both qualified for the PC Regional championships (Penny-open, Ed- Intermediate.) Penny also went through the CIC** test and got a promising 64% which I was very pleased with. We then started with JAS. Penny came 2nd in the Novice and 3rd in the Open qualifying for the championships at Hartpury. Ed was totally shell shocked with the experience but behaved very well and Paris narrowly missed out on qualifying. We then took Ed and Paris to Aston for the arena eventing. Ed was super in the 90, just falling over 2 poles in SJ (it was too small!) and jumped clear inside the time XC. Paris was the star of the day jumping double clear just outside of the time to come 2nd. Penny was super at the JAS Final at Hartpury, jockey forgot how to ride in the Novice but picked up in the open jumping clear round the SJ part, but unfortunately with Penny knowing these XC would knock down and some dodgy striding she took 3 down. However I was still very pleased with her over a full up 1"15 course. Eventing season is nearly here! First 3 events have been entered and I have been accepted for the first 2!! so excited now! Good look to everyone starting their season!
Bye for now, The team at Francesca Page eventing xxx Wow! Well what a year 2015 has been. I started the year hoping I could contest a CIC* on Summertime Penny by the end of the year, we managed this in May at Rockingham Castle with a very respectable dressage and a double clear. I then decided I would aim Penny for Osberton CCI*. In July we managed our first BE Intermediate, we had an incredible time and just rolled a pole SJ. Hartpury then came around in August and we managed the CCI* here with one pole and an incredible clear XC finishing in the top 40. Penny went on holiday while I managed to pass my AH test for the Pony club, go to uni and have the opportunity of another ride for this year! It has been all go at the end of the year, getting both the girls fit and ready for next season, as well as passing my HGV test and uni exams. I also took my 4yo Ed out hunting for the first time which he thoroughly enjoyed! I am enjoying every minute of it and I cant wait for this season to start! Very exciting that I potentially have 2 horses to compete Internationally, plus my now 5yo to get to the BYEH championships!
Happy New Year, I hope everyone has a fabulous year and gets everything they deserve and wish for! Lots of love the team at Francesca Page Eventing xx |
